Remember the fun that you had as a kid playing with your Lite Brite toy? Well, this is nothing like that.

Lite Brite features a simulated LED screen that can be used standalone, or with your favorite images or videos. We recommend using videos with a chromakey background (green screen) so that your subject can be isolated. This is where you'll get your most interesting effects.

About Chromakey:

Our shaders will ALWAYS work best using chromakey (green screen) videos. No masking technique (current) will ever be able to isolate your subject quite as well. There are plenty of free, interesting chromakey videos available online, or you can make your own. We will include this function in all of our shaders in the future.
- Chromakey is on by default and the default color is pure green, rgb(0,1,0).
- The chroma high and chroma low knobs are for fine tuning your color. Not all green screens are the same color.

When using a video that does not have a green background, take these steps:
1. Turn on the demo button. This will show your video/image without any effects.
2. Turn off the lock color switch.
3. Using your right mouse button, select the color on your video/image that you wish to mask.
4. Turn lock color back on to lock in your selected color.
5. Turn off the demo switch.
6. You should now see your video with the selected color masked out.
7. Make fine adjustments using the chroma high and chroma low knobs.

About Auto-Pilots:

The auto-pilot toggle switches, when selected, will randomize the selected group(s) at a time interval selected in the timers group. The intervals can vary, and can range between 1 and 30 seconds. The default time interval is 10 seconds.

GROUPS

SCENE GROUP:

rotater - Smooth, clockwise rotation of the entire scene, excluding media uv.
entropy - Complete chaos.
skewer x - Skew scene in the x direction.
skewer y - Skew scene in the y direction.
zoomer - Infinite zoom with fading layers.
scaler xy - Scales size of LEDs.
x shift - Movement in the x direction while zoomer is on.
y shift - Movement in the y direction while zoomer is on.

STYLES GROUP:

bulb - Change the style of the LEDs.
free style - Randomness in LED locations.

MEDIA GROUP:

media uv - Add your media to the scene. Full screen.
media xy - Add your media to each LED.
edges - Finds the edges of your media.
invert - Get the negative of your media.

MASK TYPES GROUP:

mask 1 - Mask styles. Choose 1 or more. Some may turn others off.
mask 2 - Mask styles. Choose 1 or more. Some may turn others off.
mask 3 - Mask styles. Choose 1 or more. Some may turn others off.
mask 4 - Mask styles. Choose 1 or more. Some may turn others off.

MUSIC GROUP:

flow - Sets all time-based variables to flow with your music.
shapes - Add shapes to the scene based on your music, full scene.
shapes xy - Add shapes to each LED based on your music.
microwaves - Adds a sound pattern to each LED.
plasma - Sounds waves, full scene.

COLORS GROUP:

leds - Turn LEDs on or off.
rotate colors - Rotates the color palette.
random colors - Randomize colors of each LED.
mask up - Adds a mask to full screen media.
primer - This is the base color for your color palette.
freq - Set the frequency of your color palette in the x direction.

AUTO PILOT GROUP:

auto scene - Automatically randomize the chosen group based on a chosen time interval.
auto styles - Automatically randomize the chosen group based on a chosen time interval.
auto media - Automatically randomize the chosen group based on a chosen time interval.
auto music - Automatically randomize the chosen group based on a chosen time interval.
auto colors - Automatically randomize the chosen group based on a chosen time interval.

TIMERS GROUP:

int scene - Set interval for auto pilot. Range from 1 to 30 seconds. Default is 10 seconds.
int styles - Set interval for auto pilot. Range from 1 to 30 seconds. Default is 10 seconds.
int media - Set interval for auto pilot. Range from 1 to 30 seconds. Default is 10 seconds.
int music - Set interval for auto pilot. Range from 1 to 30 seconds. Default is 10 seconds.
int colors - Set interval for auto pilot. Range from 1 to 30 seconds. Default is 10 seconds.

CHROMAKEY GROUP: (do not randomize)

chroma key - Turn the chromakey feature on or off.
lock color - Lock in your chosen color.
pick key - Use Right Mouse Button to select color.
lock key - This is color that will be masked.
chroma high - Fine tune colors.
chroma low - Fine tune colors.

NO RANDOM GROUP: (do not randomize)

demo - Unprocessed media.
trim x - Trim the sides of your media.
trim y - Trim the top and bottom of your media.
scale x - Scale your media in the x direction.
scale y - Scale your media in the y direction.
pos x - Move your media to the left or right.
pos y - Move your media up or down.
